Future for the Aisle
Stage One
I am starting from the ground up and simply running out of the back of my faithful Jeep for now. Stock is limited somewhat by the space and this also limits the reach of the Aisle currently to local events in Southern California. I sill plan to carry a diverse selection of authors while also offering online sales.
Stage Two
My short term goal is to upgrade to a trailer that will be towed behind my vehicle. This provides room for a larger stock of not just books, but many other items. It would also enable me to curate a selection for more diverse events and haul my needed equipment with relative ease.
Final Goal
The vision and idea that started this venture is to be able to travel up and down the West Coast, providing a unique way to support your local authors and give them the chance to have their books on a store shelf.
The goal is a fully customized trailer that can function more as a small store when it is open. Allowing customers the freedom to walk through our space and become fully immersed in our little world. With a reading nook, spaces for fully built shelving, a counter for service, and a storable set up for authors to meet and interact with their fans, The Wandering Aisle dreams to become a traveling beacon for small creatives to really connect with each other and their customers.
It’s hard for self-published authors to fund something like a book tour. The Wandering Aisle will be a place that comes to them and allows them to put out the word, locally or otherwise, that they are somewhere accessible and give them and their fans the chance to meet.
